Stephen Loew is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and geriatric specialist with over a decade of experience helping older adults maintain independence, safety, and quality of life. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University.
Stephen is board certified as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS), a distinction that reflects advanced expertise in the care of older adults. Throughout his career, he has specialized in helping seniors navigate challenges related to aging, including mobility changes, fall prevention, chronic health conditions, neurological disorders, caregiving needs, and long-term planning.
Stephen currently practices with FOX Rehabilitation, where he serves as a Regional Quality Assurance Liaison, supporting high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple regions. His professional experience spans outpatient, home-based, and community settings, giving him a unique understanding of the healthcare system and the wide range of resources available to older adults and their families.
Through his work with seniors and caregivers, Stephen has seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be when a loved one experiences changes in health, mobility, memory, or independence. Families are often left trying to navigate complex decisions about healthcare, home care, senior living options, insurance, community resources, and future planning while balancing the emotional impact these changes can bring.
Stephen founded NorthStar Senior Consulting to serve as a trusted guide during these transitions. His mission is to come alongside older adults and their families, helping them understand their options, identify available resources, and develop practical solutions that align with their goals, values, and desired lifestyle. Whether the goal is to remain safely at home, explore community services, coordinate care, or prepare for future needs, Stephen helps families make informed decisions with confidence.
Families appreciate Stephen's calm, thoughtful approach and his ability to simplify complicated situations. He takes the time to listen, understand what matters most, and connect clients with the resources, professionals, and support systems that can help them thrive. His goal is to reduce stress, minimize uncertainty, and replace fear with a clear path forward.
Stephen believes every older adult deserves the opportunity to live life to the fullest in the environment that best supports their well-being and preferences. By serving as an advocate, educator, and partner, he helps families navigate the aging journey with confidence, empowering them to focus less on the challenges and more on enjoying meaningful time together.
